The Pacifica School District Board of Trustees is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Carisa J. Bowman as Superintendent. A visionary, student-centered leader, Dr. Bowman brings over 20 years of expertise in leading diverse educational systems ranging from large urban districts of 120,000 students to intimate, close-knit communities.

Pacifica School District is proud to announce it has received a $2 million federal contribution to advance its Workforce Housing Initiative, a key project designed to provide affordable housing for educators and staff. The funding comes through Community Project Funding secured by Congressman Sam Liccardo, as part of his efforts to bring targeted federal resources to key local needs such as affordable housing, education, and workforce stability.

Dear Pacifica School District Students, Staff, Families, and Community Members,

We are proud to join schools across San Mateo County and the nation in recognizing Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day Friday, November 14, 2025.  This special day honors Ruby Bridges, who, in 1960, became the first African American student to integrate an all-white elementary school in the South, an event that marked a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights Movement.

The Pacifica School District recognizes that a strong school library program is essential in building lifelong learning and a love of reading. Our libraries provide not only the resources students need to achieve their educational goals, but also welcoming, inclusive spaces that support their social and emotional well-being. Each of our five schools are guided by a dedicated Library Media Technician (LMT) who designs and organizes each of these environments with care and creativity.
